Salary Range: $75-$100k
Geography: NYC preferred! All staff are currently working remotely and we are remaining responsive to the evolving pandemic
ABOUT THE ROLE
As Basta’s Employer Success Lead, you will drive the strategy and execution of Basta’s partnership development strategy. To truly move the needle on who gets hired across the Fortune 500, we need more leading companies ready and willing to hire first-generation college students. Your job will be to identify the most effective paths to building employer partnerships that will drive this hiring at scale. Recognizing that there is no one size fits all approach - you’ll apply your creativity, optimism and sales background to creating and executing a smart strategy, relying on data and results to know when it is time to pivot, ask for more resources or celebrate!
You will play a role across:
Strategy: Propose a forward-looking plan for employer engagement that takes into account the historical activity and results related to your area of work
Data & Assessment Systems: Identify and track data relevant to assessing progress against the goals for forging new employer partnerships
Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for a subset of employer prospects and partners, regularly looking for opportunities to deepen partnerships with existing employers and finding new and engaging tactics for forging new relationships
Event Management: Leading on employer engagement events, often serving as Basta’s spokesperson, support planning/coordination and ensure impactful follow-up
Career Success: Partner with the Director of Career Success to help drive job attainment outcomes through identifying good-fit opportunities between fellows/employers

Minimum qualifications to be considered a candidate for this position:
You have 6+ years experience in talent acquisition, DEI or related fields
You believe deeply in the inherent value and potential first-generation students bring to the workplace and are excited to support them to achieve their career goals
You have a sales, business development or account/partnership management background - and you see these functions as an opportunity to connect people & companies with resources that will make their lives and jobs easier and better
You have outstanding organizational skills and know how to track moving pieces across various work streams
You believe that data and relationships carry equal weight in developing business relationships, you know which one is your strength and have tools to help you with the other
You’re a doer and a problem-solver with an eye for continuous improvement - you’re known for getting stuff done
You’re comfortable working in a virtual environment using virtual communication/collaboration tools, including Google docs, Zoom, and Slack
You are based in or near New York City and are available for some weekend and evening work
Bonus points if:
- You’ve worked with young adults (16-24 year olds)
- You have nonprofit experience
