Position Title: Director of Powered by Basta
Position Type: Full-time Role
Salary: Range is between $100-$130k
Geography: The preferred location for this role is NYC although strong candidates based in other locations will be considered. All staff are currently working remotely and we are remaining responsive to the evolving pandemic

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Director of Powered by Basta (PBB) will lead the execution of BASTA's programming for the K16 ecosystem building career readiness into their program models. This role brings expertise in understanding partner profiles and the components that lead to collaboratively achieving “reach and impact” goals. In addition to excellent programming, the Director of PBB understands the infrastructure needed to build capacity and leads partners to develop and implement that infrastructure. The Director of Powered by Basta plays a key role in the innovation of program design.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with Chief Program Officer to set strategic vision and goals for Powered by Basta programming which focus on “reach and impact” for students

  • Coordinate with Director of Program Design and Chief Program Officer to design learning experiences aligned with market needs and partner priorities

  • Serve as a relationship touchpoint for all PBB partners and proactively pull in other people and resources necessary to drive successful outcomes

  • Manage goal setting and progress monitoring with PBB partners around student participation and diagnostic completion 
    Oversee Powered by Basta programming and initiatives, ensuring a high level of program quality and delivery

  • Work with Director of Program Design to ensure best practices as evidenced by session and partner data are reflected in all programming

  • Work with Chief Program Officer to establish Powered by Basta program calendar, determine work schedules and plans, and distribute/assign work to team members; collaborate with Director of Fellowship as needed

  • Work with Project Managers and operations to oversee day-to-day implementation of systems around all aspects of PBB programming, including session delivery and execution, data collection, and partner management

  • Facilitate at least one series of student and/or staff facing Powered by Basta programming per quarter

  • You have that rare mix of vision and tactics that make other leaders admire you. You've managed multiple teams on a range of different projects, but you're not afraid to roll up your sleeves and get in the trenches yourself

  • You are comfortable with light-level data crunching and/or reading data sets and believe they are a primary input for assessing the effectiveness of a program

  • You’re an approachable, active listener who inspires trust and confidence from others. Your ego is secondary; you lead by example, embodying the notion of personal responsibility and encouraging others to build on your ideas, challenging them, and expanding them

  • You have outstanding attention to detail, strong organizational skills and a systems-mindset

  • You take complete ownership over your work, but you’re not afraid to ask for help when you need it. You’re also willing to jump in wherever you’re needed

  • You have excellent written and oral communication skills and are able to influence and engage a wide range of stakeholders

  • You’re comfortable working in a virtual environment using virtual communication/collaboration tools, including Google docs, Zoom, and Slack

  • You are based in or near New York City and able to attend in-person sessions, including some weekend and evening work

  • Master’s degree required
